"To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity  in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
Ephesians 4:12 -13

Background

We are located in Room 201, directly over the church's main office..

  • We have over 2,400 items fully processed and hundreds more that are available for checkout but have not yet been assimilated into the system. These 2,400 items include books and videos, with a strong showing in children's books and Christian fiction.

  • We also produce copies of each Sunday's sermon on audio cassette tapes for check out.

Ours is a self-server library where people may SIGN OUT books following posted instructions any time the room is not occupied by a class and/or meeting. Generally it is most accessible before and after services on Sundays.

Volunteer Opportunities
Running a library is labor intensive. Our processed books are critiqued to make sure they are something we can fully recommend. The physical processing of each book takes about an hour.

We have needs for:

people to remind about overdue materials to return

    advertising

helping our patrons when they visit, etc.

We have training materials for these tasks and are always eager to welcome new volunteers.

Support
The library is almost entirely supported by donations.

We receive Library Builder stamps from local Christian bookstores. These come via our church members who acquire these stamps by simply asking for them every time they shop. These stamps are redeemable for purchase of books.

We also generate book credits as a percentage of sales at our annual book table during National Children's Book Week.

We also receive donations of books. Many of these come anonymously, which is unfortunate because we can't just put everything we receive onto the shelves right away and we are constrained in how to dispose of some donations in this case.

We do have a donation form which allows the donor to specify how we can utilize their donation. In some cases we can use donated books as a trade-in to receive a more needed item.  Please place the green donation form with any donation made to NRC.

Please take some time to come by the Resource Center and see what we have to offer !
