"If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be raised through Jesus Christ. - 1 Peter 4:11 Ministry Opportunities Ushers & Greeters: How Usher/Greeter Ministries Work: Our goal is to extend a warm welcome every Sunday for each person through the door, as well as make sure that people get a bulletin and a comfortable seat. Our ministry volunteers also serve communion, receive and count the offering, and provide information at the Welcome Center. We are the first face of Northlake, and want to be one of the reasons people want to come back. Our vision is to connect each person of our large ministry into small groups, as well as have quarterly gatherings for potlucks. We are also planning to partner with the Helping Hands ministry to serve at the Eastside "love Inc." food bank. Head Usher: This person is in charge of making sure there are enough ushers to participate in the Worship Service. They are to arrive 30 minutes prior to the service, designate 3 ushers to count the offering, and assign someone to take a "people count". Usher: Ushers are to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the beginning of each service and check with the head usher to let them know that they are there. They serve by handing out our bulletins at the doors as people enter the Worship Center, help with seating people and help clean up the worship areas after the service. Greeter: A warm greeting is the first thing every guest will notice at Northlake. Greeters need to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the service to welcome people at the doors. Communion Preparers: This is a team that prepares the communion trays prior to the weeks that communion will be served in the service. Communion preparers should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the first service to set-up for communion, and to refill the trays between services. Umbrella Ministry: This team will meet people at their cars when it is raining and walk them to the foyer under the protection of an umbrella. Welcome Center: This team is available before each service to answer any questions that guests may have, especially help direct new attendees and guests to children's and youth classes. There is also information available at the Welcome Center for the different ministries here at Northlake. The tape request clipboard is kept at the welcome center as well as the tapes that have been duplicated for sale. |
