Paula Cortado - PreSchool Director
My husband Mark & I were married in Maui, Hawaii in September of 1993. We have two boys Colin 10 and Connor 7 ½. Mark & I joined Northlake in 1995. I have been involved in several ministries from M.O.P.s, helping in Sunday School classes, doing child care in the Nursery for Craft Team, and singing in the choir. In 1996 I was hired on as the Receptionist/Secretary to Children’s Pastor until shortly after our first son, Colin was born and I made the hard decision to stay at home with him, sadly leaving the job that I loved. I did child care in my home, worked at Babies R Us, and also tried a home business for a short time. In January of 2001 I was offered a job as a Preschool teacher at Christian Life School & Day Care, where my son was attending Pre-K. The school closed down in the summer of 2007. I have come full circle and have returned as part of the staff at Northlake in a new part-time role as the Preschool Director. My husband and I have been blessed by being able to work at such a wonderful place with such amazing and loving people.
My hobbies are reading books, singing, doing puzzles, and spending time with my family –walking, camping, and playing baseball. I was born and raised here in Seattle, but I have also lived over the mountains, in Wenatchee and in Leavenworth. I have to say that Leavenworth has to be my favorite town with the quaint villages and the homey feel to it. This brings back good memories of my childhood.
I look forward to getting to know the children and to serving your family on Sunday mornings. You can usually spot me in the hall downstairs, welcoming families to their child’s classroom.
