GOD IS GOOD – ALL THE TIME! He brought me and my family to Northlake in the spring of 2003, and I was blessed to join the staff in September of 2006 as the Administrative Assistant in the areas of Worship and Preaching. After spending 7 years in the Nordstrom retail world, working with the Northlake family is a great privilege. God has done great things in and through his people, and being a part of that on a more integral basis brings me great joy.
God was also good in 1977 when he gave me my Godly husband, Mike, and then gifted us with four children. Except for a brief diversion to San Diego, the northwest has always been home. Our first-born, Bethany, and her husband, Carl, live and work in Seattle, enjoying the city life and travel. Peter also lives and works in Seattle and has a passion for music. Still at home, Nathan and Alex, devote themselves to school as well as their endeavors in band and orchestra. Nathan plays his tenor saxophone in the NLCC Worship Band. Alex loves on “her kids” in NLPD. As a family we enjoy classic movies (Mike has every Buster Keaton silent film), hiking, reading, and (surprise, surprise!) making music.
My responsibilities at Northlake are two-fold: I assist Pastor Jeff Anderson with organizational details and study materials. I get a sneak preview every week of his sermon content and get to watch how he brings it all together to help us understand and apply God’s word to our lives. The majority of my time, however, is spent keeping the workings of music ministries, led by Pastor Dale Menzies, flowing in harmony with the overall rhythms of the church. (Too many metaphors?) It means keeping the music library organized, lots of communicating with musicians and technicians, rehearsing with choir and worship team, and fully participating in worship on Sunday mornings from the piano. This is my job? God really is Good!
My personal theme is “To hear God’s voice and obey with abandon.” It gives my life continuity. It makes my life an adventure. Joshua 1:7&9 says “Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. . . for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.” Now that is GOOD!
